Xerox launched the entry-level PrimeLink C9281 and C9265 printers at Printpack India in February, and the machines have reportedly been performing well in the market.

During the launch, Leo Joseph, managing director, Xerox India, told Indian Printer and Publisher‘s Priyanka Tanwar that the entry production market is huge and the OEMs are aiming to capture a big chunk of market share.

In an article dated 1 February 2025, Tanwar wrote, “Highlighting the shift in the market dynamics of digital printing, he said that a decade ago, offset printing was the dominant technology. However, in today’s landscape, there is a clear move towards immediate, short-run, and low-volume printing.”

“We are bringing high-end technology to the masses. We have observed over the years that entry-level production is where the market is growing in tier II and tier III cities, and we want to address that market,” Joseph said.

The latest and benchmark technologies, such as 0.5 mm front-to-back registration, which used to come in only high-end equipment, are now in entry production equipment, with improved colors and media latitude on the machines.

Xerox had also increased the media latitude to 400 gsm, allowing service providers to print from low gsm to high gsm and enjoy the ability to print high-quality images at affordable prices, he said.

Joseph said the new printers are designed for digital printing applications that require color accuracy, productivity, and ease of use.

“We see maximum potential and growth in the entry production color market, and we are targeting this market with the new launches – the lower end of the market with C9265 and the higher end of the segment with C9281,” he said.

The Xerox PrimeLink C9200 Series offers professional-grade color printing with advanced image quality, high-volume capacity, various finishing options, and robust security— the company considers the range ideal for commercial print shops and high-demand office environments.
