At the recent Media Expo held in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan from 3 to 5 October, Epson highlighted its revamped range of SureColor eco-solvent signage printers — the SC-S9130, SC-S8130, and SC-S7130 — with a new look and feel. The company seems to want to raise the standard for color and print quality, speed, and hence efficiency in signage printing. The expo, although limited in scale, received footfall from signage printers in the north and the east of the country.
The new flagship SureColor SC-S9130, shown running at Media Expo, is the industry’s first 11-color signage printer. The revamped printer series features a major upgrade to a single, larger PrecisionCore MicroTFP 9,600 nozzle printhead, which replaces the dual-head design of previous models to deliver greater detail and precision at higher speeds.
It features the exclusive UltraChrome GS3 high-capacity ink packs that hold up to 1500 ml each, instead of traditional cartridges, which significantly lowers running costs and generates less eWaste. The inkset, along with CMYK, includes light black, white, red, orange, and an all-new green, which is claimed to expand the potential color gamut by up to 19%. The printer features light cyan and light magenta arrays for smooth gradations.
The minimum ink droplet volume of the printer is 4.3 picoliter (pL), and it can reach up to speeds of 119.4 m2/h. The printer accommodates media width ranging from 300 to 1,625.6 mm (64″) with print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. This would enable the output of exceptionally vibrant and lifelike visuals, positioning the printer for high-impact branding and luxury signage.
According to Amit Sehgal, deputy general manager, LFP- sales and marketing at Epson India, “Since the launch of the new Epson Eco-Solvent printer range in March 2025, the customer’s feedback has been positive and encouraging. A good number of the new eco-solvent range has already been installed in India.”
For high-volume signage producers, the SureColor SC-S8130 introduced at the show is a 6-color printer with a larger and more efficient printhead for uninterrupted production environments. The SureColor SC-S7130, also demonstrated at Media Expo, offers a cost-effective 4-color solution for everyday signage needs, including banners and exhibition panels.
“The new printers empower businesses to deliver stunning visuals while improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact. The compact design of the new series makes them suitable for modern workspaces, while features such as Epson Cloud Solution PORT enable real-time monitoring for optimized uptime,” Sehgal added.
Alongside the printers now using the larger PrecisionCore inkjet head, Epson presented its Resin Signage Printer, which Sehgal emphasized to be a growing area of focus. He says photo printing and UV-based printing technology are among the company’s high-yield innovations. Epson demonstrated a 24-inch 12-color photo printing machine and printed samples of its SureColor V7000 10-color 4 x 8 UV flatbed printer as well. The direct-to-fabric (DTF) printer and CAD inkjet printers were also part of the company’s display.
“These advancements reflect a growing industry trend toward more sustainable and efficient printing solutions, with Epson positioning its new SureColor series as a forward-thinking answer to these market demands,” he concluded.
