The Association of Indian Magazines (AIM) has elected Manoj Sharma, CEO (Publishing & Experiential) at Living Media India, as its new president. Dhaval Gupta, director at CyberMedia, is the new vice-president for 2025–26.

At the association’s annual general meeting in New Delhi, Anurag Batra, chairman and editor-in-chief of BW Businessworld was also elected general secretary; and Riyad Mathew, chief associate editor & director at The Week as treasurer.

Outgoing president Anant Nath, executive publisher at Delhi Press, thanked members and the executive team for their support and said collaborative initiatives in recent years have helped revitalize the magazine ecosystem and reposition magazines as a trusted, multi-platform medium.

“We have achieved significant milestones together — from strengthening subscription delivery and distribution networks, expanding digital storefronts, and building policy engagement with government ministries, to foregrounding magazines once again in the media and advertising conversation,” he said.

Other initiatives include partnering with India Post through Magazine Post to boost subscriptions; collaborating with Indian Railways and IRCTC for retail distribution; launching the WAVES OTT magazine store with Prasar Bharati and developing a shared magazine storefront on ONDC/DigiHaat to enable eCommerce sales.

The new team aims to focus on expanding magazine readership and advertising relevance through a national campaign, while urging the DAVP to revise and rationalize advertising rates for magazines.

“This is a pivotal moment for the magazine medium. The new leadership team looks forward to carrying this work forward with greater energy, sharper focus, and stronger collaborations to grow magazine readership, advertising, and relevance,” Sharma said.
