Paper and board prices in India — update of 14 August 2025

Monthly update shows changes increases from 2 to 6 Rupees per kilogram in some paper categories

In our third monthly update, the prices of uncoated offset paper or what is called maplitho in our market, have gone up in some cases in the past month. While there is no change in price of some mills, where there is an increase, it varies from Rs 2, to Rs 3, 4, 5, and 6 per kilogram. Similarly in our list of writing and printing papers in the 70 to 80 GSM range, although the changes are less specific, the range of increase in price is also from 2 to 6 Rs per kilogram.

There is no change in the prices of our list of premium white woodfree offset papers. In the writing and printing papers from 60 to 90 gsm range there is a prices increase from 2 to 6 Rs per kilogram. Coated paper prices have remained the same as in our previous update of 15 July 2025. Newsprint prices have also held steady over the past month as per our information.

The prices of liners for corrugation have increased in most cases in a range from Rs 2.5 to 6 over the past month. In the same period duplex board prices have remained the same as our last update, as have the prices of corrugated boards. In our category of SBS paperboards, there have been price increases in the past month. These vary from no change to increases mostly of Rs. 2, but in one exceptional case, of an increase of Rs 12. There is no change at all in the prices of waste paper.

Based on IppStar’s research, the list of current paper prices per kilogram in India are based on inputs from paper mills, distributors, and other sources, ex-godown and excluding GST. These prices are meant to be indicative, since every purchaser and buyer will negotiate the landed price on the basis of their requirements and conditions.
