Systematic Designer, a commercial print service provider established in Siliguri in 2001, is evolving with the installation of a Konica Minolta AccurioShine 3600 with Foil Unit AS-101. The investment, completed in January 2025, marks a step forward for the company to enhance digital print capacity to meet the rising demand for premium finishing.

From its beginnings with a single-color offset press and a simple digital press, Systematic Designer has grown into a formidable player in the region’s printing sphere. “When we started in 2001, digital printing was still an emerging technology, and we were among the first to adopt it,” said Sudhir Singhal, managing director, Systematic Designer.

Today, its production floor boasts a comprehensive suite of machinery, including three Konica Minolta presses — AccurioPress C7090, AccurioPress 6120, and the recent AccurioShine 3600, a Heidelberg SM 74 offset press, a CTP system, and a full post-press setup for binding and case-packing. This diverse equipment allows them to provide customized solutions to a wide range of clients, from high-volume publishing to intricate, embellished jobs.

For Systematic Designer, the decision to invest in the AccurioShine 3600 was driven by a clear objective: to diversify into digital print enhancement and capitalize on the growing market interest for premium finishes such as spot UV and foil stamping. “The market was showing an interest in embellished products, especially for covers, invitations, and visiting cards, and we wanted to offer that capability in-house,” Singhal explained.

While still in the early adoption phase, the company notes a steady increase in customer interest for these enhanced products. With ongoing support from Konica Minolta, Systematic Designer is confident that the AccurioShine 3600 will soon become a pivotal value generator in its portfolio.

Systematic Designer’s day-to-day operations encompass the entire commercial printing cycle, from prepress design to final finishing. Its services reach a broad spectrum of clients, including schools, publishers, retail businesses, and corporate entities, delivering products such as books, magazines, invitation cards, brochures, and now, digitally enhanced prints.

A team of approximately 50 professionals works in tandem across design, printing, and finishing departments, ensuring efficiency, precision, and reliable service.

Looking ahead, Systematic Designer has expansion plans, constantly monitoring industry trends to guide their upgrades. The investment in the AccurioShine 3600 is integral to its broader strategy of moving beyond conventional print into value-added services. The company is actively exploring opportunities in premium packaging and short-run personalized embellishment, demonstrating an openness to adopting further digital enhancements as the local market matures.

With over 20 machines installed, including offset, digital, and post-press equipment, Systematic Designer possesses a significant production capacity, capable of handling both large-scale publishing projects and time-sensitive commercial print jobs. The company is now actively positioning itself to take on more high-margin enhancement work, leveraging the capabilities of the AccurioShine 3600.

Our journey with Konica Minolta has been built on consistent support and a shared commitment to print innovation,” Singhal remarked. “The AccurioShine 3600 has not only elevated our product offering but also given us a competitive edge in a fast-changing market. While adoption will take time, we’re confident that this machine will contribute significantly to our growth story.”
