Heidelberg India has showcased a running Speedmaster CX 92 4-color sheet-fed offset press at Printpack 2025. The press was unveiled by Samir Patkar and Viraj Damle of Heidelberg India. The press on display at the expo has been sold to Mumbai-based Almats Branding. This is the first time in 14 years that Heidelberg India has showcased a sheet-fed offset press at an expo in India.

We have put up a press in a show, a sheet-fed press in a show after 14 years. 14 years guys! So that’s a very long journey. The last time I remember we came in with running press at a show was at the Pamex in Mumbai,” Patkar said.

On all the five days of Printpack – from 1 to 5 February, the CX 92 will be running both commercial and packaging jobs. “This is a press which is not just going to run commercial jobs but it is also going to run packaging jobs. It comes in this beautiful 92 format and many in India feel that a 92 centimeter format is only for commercial printing. We will see a 300 GSM board printing cartons; 250 GSM board printing postcards, and a commercial printing demo on 130 GSM stock. We will be demonstrating all three jobs with changeover in less than 15 minutes,” Patkar added.

Damle said that CX 92 is a workhorse and Heidelberg has been trying to pitch it hard. “We have been trying to pitch it to cutomers and customers have seen live demonstrations and they convinced by its exceptional quality,” he said. “Over the next 4-5 days, we will try and demonstrate what this beauty can do for you.” Both the board stock being printed in the demonstrations come from ITC Bhadrachalam while the 130 GSM commercial printing stock will come from BILT. The Speedmaster CX 92 has a maximum speed of 15,000 sheets per hour.

First CX 92 in West India at Almats Branding

Existing Heidelberg customer Almats Branding owned by Hussain Asgar will be the first company in West India to install a Speedmaster CX 92. “This press has been sold and is on its way to Mumbai, to Almats Branding, a commercial printer. Having made our mark in both North and South India, the CX92 is now expanding into the West for commercial printing. But there’s more—another CX92 is also heading to West India. I’m delighted to announce that this press has already been sold, though the customer has chosen to remain anonymous,” Patkar said.
