Tec Color Craft, a screen print company in La Verne, California delivers a wide range of services to customers and counts decal and sticker printing as its core focus, with more than 1.5 billion stickers printed to date.

With Nazdar Ink Technologies offering a wide-ranging portfolio of UV, water-based and solvent-based wide-format digital inkjet, screen-printing and flexographic inks, the company works with many types of businesses all over the world.  This allows Nazdar to gain in-depth knowledge of wide-reaching markets, and to celebrate how customers use various ink products in innovative and creative ways to produce their own full range of products.  One such customer is Tec Color Craft, a screen print company in La Verne, California. While the business delivers a wide range of services to customers, it counts decal and sticker printing as its core focus, with more than 1.5 billion stickers printed to date.

“No matter our age or interests, stickers are key to personalizing our things,” Blake Frenkie, director of Operations at Tec Color Craft said.

Tec Color Craft uses screen printing to produce these applications, citing this form of print as the best way to create a premium flexible feel and striking appearance. Here, high-quality ink is critically important to the final product. In order to achieve consistent quality and accurate results, Tec Color Craft has formed a close working partnership with Nazdar.

High quality and accuracy

The company primarily uses three Nazdar inks for decal and sticker work.

  1. Nazdar 1600 POP UV screen ink, a general application ink set that is fast curing and delivers the glossy finish synonymous with this type of work.
  2. Nazdar 3600 UV – Tec Color Craft also uses Nazdar 3600 UV decal five-year outdoor high gloss inks for stickers and decals.
  3. Nazdar 4000 Series UV – For specialized work, the company chooses Nazdar 4000 Series UV inks.

Tec Color Craft has demonstrated innovative use of Nazdar 4000 Series UV ink by printing on aluminum sheets, which are then applied to motorcycle mufflers with adhesive. These mufflers are a specialized component that helps reduce the noise of a bike’s engine.

Additionally, Tec Color Craft was faced with the challenge of producing decals that would not fade or falter when exposed to heat. Utilizing the Nazdar 4000 Series UV inks for this unique challenge worked well, since they are heat resistant and designed to be heat bent and formed–making them the ideal choice for printing these applications.

Tec Color Craft’s wider Nazdar journey

While Tec Color Craft lists these three inks as its core products when producing stickers and decals, its use of Nazdar inks stretches further. The company often uses other Nazdar inks when creating more unusual applications for clients.

An example of this is when a customer requested the back of its stickers to be printed with a matte black finish. For this job, Tec Color Craft used Nazdar M1679 Matte Black ink to achieve the desired effect.

Blake Frenkie, director of Operations at Tec Color Craft knows the key to creating the right kind of sticker for any application, “Sometimes they come as a free gift with purchase, other times we pay for them, and sometimes they are included with a product as a hang tag. The most colorful and long-lasting of these stickers are screen printed.”

Glenn Gallegos, senior account executive, Nazdar Source One, adds, “The key thing for companies such as Tec Color Craft is using the right ink for the right application. As a supplier of a wide range of high-quality alternative ink solutions, we are able to meet virtually every requirement.”
