MV Shreyams Kumar, managing director of the Kerala-based Mathrubhumi Group, was recently elected president of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) for 2024-25.

The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) has elected MV Shreyams Kumar of Mathrubhumi as its new president. Kumar succeeds Rakesh Sharma of Aaj Samaj. 

In the 85th annual general meeting held online, Vivek Gupta of Sanmarg was elected as deputy president of the apex body of publishers of newspapers, magazines, and periodicals. Karan Rajendra Darda of Lokmat is vice-president, and Tanmay Maheshwari of Amar Ujala is honorary treasurer.

Mary Paul will continue secretary general of the Society.

The INS plays a critical role in shaping the future of India’s print media industry, advocating for the interests of publishers and ensuring the continued relevance of traditional media in the digital era.
