Konica Minolta showcased three digital presses catering to the photo printing industry at the Consumer Electronic & Imaging Fair (CEIF) 2024 in Mumbai. The newly launched Konica Minolta AccurioPress C84hc is a next-generation machine with upgrades in productivity and overall print quality compared to its predecessor. CEIF 2024 took place in Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre from 11-13 January.
Ashok Sethi, executive general manager of Sales (Production and Industrial Print Division) at Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, mentioned the significance of the AccurioPress C84hc at the expo. Additionally, the company presented the AccurioPress C12000 and the AccurioPress C73hc, along with printed samples.
“At this expo, we showed the newly launched high chroma press, the Konica Minolta AccurioPress C84hc. It is a next-generation machine and there is fair bit of upgrade compared with the previous generation when it comes to productivity and the overall print quality,” Sethi said.
Indian photo print market remains steady
In terms of the Indian photo printing market, Sethi noted that while the growth rate has slowed compared to pre-pandemic levels, it remained steady. He expressed optimism about the continuous growth in photo print volumes in India, contrasting it with trends in other markets.
“Yes, the volumes in the photo printing market are not growing as rapidly as they did before the Covid pandemic but the growth is steady. India is probably the only market where there is growth in the photo print market. I expect this to continue in the coming years as well,” Sethi added.
Ankit Madan, Senior Product marketing manager, highlighted the rising popularity of post-print embellishment in the photo print market.
“Customers want something extra and that is why post-print enhancement or embellishment is becoming popular. That is where our MGI technology comes into play,” Madan said.
Sethi also commented on the positive response at CEIF 2024, noting the good footfall and emphasizing the expo’s importance in the photo industry.
