On 15 November 2018, the biggest business festival of the paper industry opened its doors for trade visitors to serve as a window of opportunity for joint ventures, technology transfer and promoting overall growth of the paper industry.

The 5th edition of Paperex South India 2018 was a great success with support of all major industry associations, participation of 163 leading exhibitors from 13 countries and over 4000 high quality trade visitors from 25+ countries. Held from 15–17 November 2018 at Chennai Trade Centre, India, the event was organized by International Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd (ITEI) in association with indian agro & recycled paper mills association (IARPMA).

Paperex series of exhibitions has played a major role in showcasing the strength of the Indian paper and all allied industries by attracting global attention to these technological advancements. It serves as the only comprehensive business platform for the pulp and paper industry and has established itself as a ‘Business Festival of the Paper Industry’ that supports the overall growth of paper industry in the country.

Paperex South India 2018 was inaugurated by MC Sampath, Minister for Industry, Government of Tamil Nadu and N Gokulakrishnan, Member of Parliament in the presence of various eminent personalities from the paper industry.

Top brands like Ashoka Rolls, Garuda, Parason, M R Mac-Tech, Metso, Andritz, etc. displayed their innovations and products at the show. The leading exhibitors had various new launches and special offers for the paper industry.

The event provided paper manufacturers an opportunity to explore the new technology, machinery and equipment and raw material for paper and board manufacturing. It also gave the mass audience of paper traders, printers, publishers, converters and paper packaging companies to explore the vast variety of papers and paper processing technology at the show.

A high-level concurrent conference on ‘Recycling and Packaging’ was also organized by IARPMA.

The event proved to be a gathering of the best minds of the industry to explore new growth avenues. YV Choudary, president, Servall Engineering, found it focused and well organized while Rajiv Kumar Agarwal, director, MR Mac-Techcalled it a good show bringing technology in a single platform for the south industry.
