Last year, Mimaki, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutting systems, bagged two awards at FESPA Hamburg 2017 for Best Object Printer for the Mimaki UJF-MkII Series and Best Textile Printer under 100 sq./h for the Mimaki Tx300P-1800 with its dual ink capability. Continuing the victorious streak at FESPA 2018 in Berlin, Mimaki has been honored with two prestigious awards again by the European Digital Press Association on 18 May 2018.
Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer/cutter was recognized as the best roll-to-roll printer up to 170 cm while Mimaki 3DUJ-553 full color 3D printer was named the best 3D additive full-color printer. The two printers were named best-in-class at the event.
The winners of the Editorial Digital Press Association (EDP) awards at FESPA 2018 were selected on the basis of achievement, quality and cost by 21 eminent trade magazines with editorial emphasis on digital print processes from all over Europe with coverage of 27 countries. The EDP comes together annually to honor the best technological developments among products and other developments announced or presented within the previous 12 months.
Enthralled by the victory, Danna Drion, marketing manager EMEA at Mimaki Europe, said, “We are honored to again be a recipient of these prestigious awards, receiving best-in-class awards for our UCJV300-160 roll-to-roll printer and our unique 3DUJ-553 full-color 3D printer.” She added, “We appreciate the time and effort the editors put in to reviewing more than 120 entries, and we are pleased to be included in the final award process with these two outstanding products.”
Mimaki UCJV300 Series
The new UCJV300 Series printers offer in-line cutting capabilities and feature layered print technology. Prints are instantly cured, allowing customers to quickly print and move to the finished product. The Greenguard Gold certified LUS-170 inks are environmentally friendly and energy efficient. The flexibility of the ink makes it ideal for a wide range of applications, including those with curved surfaces like vehicle wraps and fleet graphics.
Mimaki 3DUJ-553 Full-Color 3D Printer
The Mimaki 3DUJ-553 3D printer can produce more than 10 million colors in layers as fine as 19 microns. When the object has been produced, its water-soluble support material can be easily washed off, saving time and reducing the risk of damaging the job work on removal of support material. The availability of clear ink enhances the appearance of the printed work.
