Publish Asia 2019 in Singapore

Publish Asia, annual conference for Asian news and publishing industry, was started by WAN IFRA in 2000 to discuss and resolve the business and management issues faced by publishers. Its 19th edition, Publish Asia 2019, will take place between 7-9 May 2019 in Singapore during which 250 key news industry personnel in the region will discuss the future of media.

There has been an upsurge in political as well as economic forefront that is aided by rapid development in all the media companies across the Asian continent. Countries like India, Indonesia, Phillipines and Thailand are witnessing elections, therefore it becomes very vital for the media to reach amongst the masses and make people aware of what all is happening around the world that further helps in minimization of false reports and news possesed by various online expeditions.

There are numerous challenges that is often faced by editors, journalists and newsroom managers and special sessions focussing on such challenges are shown prominently in the Newsroom Summit Asia. Initiatives are take be taken up in order to resolve the threats to editorial independence and journalist safety.

Publish Asia after moving around in that region for the last 15 years is back to Singapore under WAN-IFRA (World Association of Newspapers and News). It is accompanied by two prominent events in Singapore including the 35th anniversary of Singapore press holdings and 20th birthday of channel News Asia.

The three day conference also include other speakers across various parts of the world.

On 8th May, 2019 Asian Media Awards Dinner will be hosted where the best works in 15 categories will be presented to 48 awardees.

The Singapore Press Holdings will showcase the digital transformation and how print, digital as well as radio work together hand in hand in The Strait Times, Lianhe Zaobao and SPH radio.

The region is graced by mediacrop that is one of the largest newrooms of that particular region, along with housing TV and both radio as well as digital news teams working together in four different languages. Another one is Bloomberg which delivers financial and business information from 176 locations around the world in compilation of 5,000 stories.
