Getting book industry and GST experts together
Moments from previous editions of Jumpstart

The publishing and printing industry is in a state of dilemma with the new tax structure affecting businesses. The German Book Office (GBO) in New Delhi wants an end to the GST conundrum and is getting the book industry and GST experts together for some solid brainstorming and problem-solving at this year’s Jumpstart, which has a lot in store for stakeholders. Called the GST Roundtable, the event which is to be held on 4 August 2017, will have the finest experts from the industry to deliberate on the matter, on which a lot still needs to be said and done.

In the backdrop of the 9th edition of the Annual Congress of Children’s content at Jumpstart, German Book Office is organizing the round-table on GST. In view of the current GST regime, publishers and printers have many questions about the taxation purview. With so many differing views on the newly implemented taxation laws, there are bound to be some problems during filing of returns. What needs to be seen is whether the tax officials will be lenient for the next few months or penalize businesses for unintended errors.
