The first day of the PackPlus 2017 exhibition began on a good note with healthy footfalls. The event witnessed around 2500 visitors on the opening day itself. While the event has around 350+ exhibitors.
With 350+ exhibitors showcasing their technology, this year’s PackPlus edition is witnessing a rise in categories like rubber rollers for gravure, gravure printers, machinery for flexible manufacturing and films, ERP and integration supply systems.
Khushal Patel, director – sales and marketing, BST eltromat, says, “We are exhibiting our demo machine at PackPlus for the first time. We have four major machines for demo purposes. Our flagship product IPQ Center, which is an intelligent and integrated quality assurance system with 100% defect detection, has also received very good response so far.”
Other than the IPQ Center, BST has on display the Powerscope 5000, an entry-level machine which they introduced in November last year. The company has also managed to close some big deals for its Web Guide with line censors.
On the other hand, Uflex has several new products on display at its stand, attracting many visitors from the industry. GP Pathak, vice president, holography division, says, “We have developed new products for decorative panels and posters, decorative boxes and cartons. These films are produced using the hot stamping method with spot effect for creating the design. These are best suited for decorative boxes.”
In addition to these, the Uflex team talked about applications in the textile and graphic industry. Ajay Tandon from the engineering division of Uflex informs, “Last year, we started with building aseptic packaging machines for rigid packaging. After conducting several successful trials, we have been able to roll out machines that can manufacture 7,800 pouches in an hour. The other machine that is generating good reviews for us is the flexi pouch filling machine.”
The event is also witnessing the presence of significant flexo manufacturers like Multigraph and Polygraph. Hinting on the growth of flexo machines, Rajesh Bhanawat, a visitor and a dealer of flexo machines based in Ludhiana, says, “Every state which has a good industrial zone has 4-8 good flexo machine manufacturers. Getting a machine nowadays is very easy. Rising competition among these companies is improving the quality of the machines manufactured as every company wants to make the machine unique. This is a very good time for the flexo industry in India and even in Brazil, as it has a similar market. Seeing so many players exhibiting for flexo printing machines is a good feature of PackPlus this year. This is where we get to see a lot of players in the flexo category to associate with.”
